One must be really living under a rock to not know about everyone’s favorite cartoon character – Winnie-the-Pooh. Unknown to many, the snuggly Teddy bear was first created in the books of AA Milne and not in Disney Animation Studio.
Alan Alexander Milne, an English author and poet, was very famous for children’s literature. He had a very humble childhood and grew up to serve in the British Army in World War-I. But his work at the leading British humor magazine Punch made him a cynosure.
Later, Milne wrote books on a character named Christopher Robin, which was inspired by his son’s name. The books were called Pooh, and these books proved to be a game-changer in Milne’s career. Winnie-the-Pooh became a common household name thereafter, which somehow overshadowed Milne’s previous works. The popularity annoyed him as his son came into the public eye, and therefore, he stopped writing in this genre. The movie Goodbye Christopher Robin was based on the tragic relationship of AA Milne and his son.
